There is a new superstar in the making young Ross McCauley who is only 14 years of age and kicking some serious butt. Ross won a recent match at Monks Lake and i am about to give away one of his secret mixes - but only one of them as it wouldn’t be fair of me to give away all of this bright young talents secrets.... well not all this week anyway.
The mix he is putting to good use at the moment is 50% of EFG 131, 30% of EFG 100 and 20% krill powder. Keep up the good work Ross!
Meanwhile Chris Allen has been soaking 8mm cubes of meat with SFA420 and feeding these with hemp and and using the meat for hook bait as well for another ton plus weight and a decent win at Rycroft this week – so yet another tip from a Pro Team member given away!
Jamie Masson has won eight matches since returning from the World Champs in Italy and the secret is out on just what he is doing – Sanagi maggot fished over EFG 130 is what all doing the damage. The optimum depth due to the warmer weather has been 4.5ft.
At a recent match at Leicestershire’s Glebe complex it was a 1,2,3,4, 5 for Team Marukyu members on Glebe Pool 1:

John Hall 162lbs
Dom Lanni 162lbs
Jamie Adcock 137lbs
Roy Marlow  112lbs
Andy Williams 112lbs

And it didn’t stop there – as Pool 7 was won by Team Marukyu member Gordon Ton Up Parker with 167lbs. Amazing but true results.
The ton up man Parker also had another win this week with a 152lb catch from Kingsland.
Roy Marlow also made it six wins out of seven this week with another win at Packington Somers near Birmingham using very similar tactics to Jamie Masson. Now who gave who the information that’s what I want to know…
Martin Smith’s been a little under the weather of late so has not been out for a while so it's good so see he's now on the mend.
Martin had a good pleasure season on the river Lea this week picking off some nice roach and dace on krilled maggot. Now he has his eye back in I doubt it will be long before he's taking some coin on the match circuit again.
Glen Greasley has won yet another match with another 200lb plus bag that makes 10 this year alone (Ed – wins or 200lb catches? – Sort it out Lee!). The match was an open run by his shop at Boddington reservoir and Glen weighed in an impressive 275lb with second place just a little behind with 98lb. EFG131 was the groundbait used on this occasion.
Richard Bedder continues to impress with figures of 3,700lb of fish coming in his last 35 matches at the Glebe. Rich's latest lake win came from Lake 1 with a weight of 81lb 8oz.
A big shout out must go to Francis O'reilly who been picked for the Celtic Cup next year in Ireland. Francis used EFG150 to come second overall in the qualifer from an iffy peg way to go, very well done mate.
It’s not all good news as I decided to fish a match at Halesworth Lakes in Suffolk this week and considering my last two trips here ended up with wins I was feeling quite confident. At the draw guess who drew the golden peg yes yours truely so what happened next? Let me tell you… not much! I ended up fifth overall with the winner sat in the peg to my right. You can’t win ‘em all eh? Only another couple of years to wait before I draw that elusive golden peg again.
