JPz Have Arrived!

Marukyu's JPz - a revolutionary bait!
The JPz are here! A totally different type of bait that is set to revolutionise coarse fishing...

After 19 years researching alternative baits, a team of Marukyu scientists have finalised what has been described as a truly massive innovation in fishing bait technology.
The idea started as a vision by the highly skilled team of Marukyu technologists. Once they were satisfied with the science behind the bait, further research and painstaking development with local pro staff was conducted to ensure that in real fishing situations, JPz were perfect.

The Science
In simple terms, JPz have been formulated to ensure that the bait’s proteins and their associated amino acids work together to maximum effect in attracting fish, stimulating their feeding behaviour and bringing them back for more.

The bait’s sophisticated recipe is designed to release key feeding triggers to make it so incredibly effective. In part, this relies on a special form of polysaccharide science, but the exact make-up of the bait must remain secret. As with all Marukyu’s baits, JPz are made from high quality foodstuffs that are free from manufactured chemicals and any other ingredients that are harmful to fish or the aquatic environment.

Marukyu has developed a unique machine made specifically to mass produce JPz to the highest levels of consistency.

The Innovative Features
•    A ‘pellet’ that looks and feels like jelly but with totally different characteristics.
•    No grain means JPz will not split when hooked.
•    Can be hair-rigged, side hooked and banded
•    Soft texture that does not impede the hook
•    Will not fall off on the cast because of the in-built durability
•    Controlled attractant release
•    Multi-ingredient formula means that the baits are rich and complex
•    All-temperature features to ensure maximum effectiveness in warm and cold-water conditions
•    Can be cut to suit hook sizes without affecting their fish-catching performance.

Another fish to the JPz... and with more flavours and sizes to come the future is bright for the new bait!EBI

Initially, JPz have been launched in 6mm size, but they can be cut to a size to suit the hook size and the application. The first product is known as EBI, a naturally salty, pink formulation that is composed from multiple ingredients, including huge numbers of minute, marine crustaceans that are highly attractive to fish.
EBI JPz are packaged in resealable pots to ensure that they can be used economically and have long-life effectiveness. Further JPz formulations are in production and will be released when available. Keep visiting the Marukyu UK website for the latest news. www.marukyu.co.uk

In Action
Fishing trials have been so good that Marukyu predicts that JPz are set to take the fishing market by storm. The Marukyu field-testing team of 50 experienced, seasoned anglers have agreed that if they had to sum up the effectiveness of the JPz in just two words, they would be “absolutely devastating”
Roy Marlow (below), Marukyu’s product development director, is also overwhelmingly enthusiastic about the innovative bait: “I have been involved for most of my life in fishing bait development, but this product really is sensational. Time and time again, JPz have produced fish when every other bait has failed. If there ever was a banker bait, this is it. And what’s more, it’s so easy to use, requires no preparation and is truly versatile.”

Team Marukyu shines in the sun

Marukyu's John Hall and Rich Morgan took first and second in the match.
Anglers using Marukyu baits have had amazing success while fishing the Ivan Marks Memorial Match at The Glebe complex in Leicestershire.

A total of 191 anglers fought it out over this two day festival of angling and the second day brought about a fish for fish battle over on Glebe Pool 3, known locally as ‘Uglies’, with Team Marukyu hotrods John Hall and Rich Morgan going at it all guns blazing and matching each other big fish for big fish.

At the final whistle, John Hall slammed down the scales with 29 bulky carp for a breathtaking 271lbs and victory, closely followed by an equally impressive catch of 28 quality carp for 267lbs from Rich Morgan, just an agonising four pounds short of the winner’s weight.

Both Team Marukyu Pros used their local knowledge in scintillating fashion to plunder the venue’s carp population, targeting the bigger specimens with the very latest Marukyu baits from Japan, a sure sign of great things about to burst onto the angling scene as these baits hit the shops this summer.

Drawn on Peg 48, local rod John Hall (27) from South Wigston fished shallow at 16 metres on the pole all day, using 8mm banded Marukyu Protein Pellets on a size 16 hook, feeding 6mm pellets and getting through a one kilo bag during the five hour match. John caught from the start, with his first four carp weighing a total of 50lb, and during the last hour he put no less than 85lb in his final keepnet including individual fish to 15lb.

Runner-up Rich Morgan (53) from Keyworth fished a different pole style on Peg 44, utilising the cover of a small tree and fishing just 5 metres down edge, feeding 1mm Marukyu Nori micro pellets and putting three maggots glugged in Marukyu Liquid Sanagi on a size 12 hook. Rich’s first carp went the best part of 19lb but later paid the price of taming these monster fish as a broken top kit possibly cost him the coveted title.

Nottingham’s ‘Kevsan’ Russell

The event was opened on Day 1 with a bang, as Nottingham’s ‘Kevsan’ Russell (46) steamed into Glebe Pool 5, amassing a 194lb weight of mainly carp from end peg 85. The Team Marukyu Pro angler fished long down the side feeding a variety of baits laced with the new Marukyu additives and at one time had carp trying to get inside his keepnet where surplus bait had fallen in!

First time visitor Ian Frith (42) from Market Deeping eased into the runner-up spot from Glebe Pool 7’s Peg 98, catching carp shallow at 13 metres using 6mm banded pellet over Dynamite Baits Swimstim pellets, having taken four early fish on feeder and meat.

Winner John Hall with Linda Marks

Overall winner with the highest individual weight over the two days, John Hall, was presented with the famous Ivan Marks Trophy by Linda Marks.

Ivan was a big supporter of the ACA, now amalgamated to form the Angling Trust, and Linda continued this theme by donating a cheque for £500 to this guardian body of angling.

“The baits are incredible,” says Andy. “Everywhere I have been using them I have had results – even from pegs with no form they have been producing fish. I have to say I am very very impressed.”
Andy has been using the complete product range but for him EFG 131 is his current favourite.
“I have been using EFG 131 in conjunction with 1mm Protein pellets (SDP 2001) on both the pole and the feeder and the results have been outstanding.”
